Safety of Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries

The PowerBrick® offers an excellent lifespan and a very high level of safety and performance thanks to the use of new generation Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) cylindrical cells. The PowerBrick® battery is managed by an integrated BMS system.

PowerBrick® can be assembled in series (4S maximum) and parallel (up to 16P) to increase operating voltages and stored energy. 

PowerBrick® batteries can be discharged up to 100% and have a operation life of 3000 charge/discharge cycles (at 100% DoD at 1C) and 4500 cycles (at 80% DoD at 1C). Reducing the depth of cycles significantly extends service life.

One of the main causes of danger for lithium-ion cells is related to the phenomenon of thermal runaway. This is a heating reaction of the battery in use, caused by the nature of the materials used in the chemistry of the battery.

With Lithium Iron Phosphate technology is intrinsically impossible in normal operation and combined with a BMS LifePO4 is currently the most secure Lithium-Ion technology on the market.
